Summer Reader Book Tag

I have been tagged to do this by Giselle @ Hardwork Boulevard few days ago. So, shout-out to lovely Giselle for tagging me. I am really grateful for it. Now, let’s do it!

  • LEMONADE: pick a book that started off bitter, but got better.

25669271I really didn’t like the characters and the story at the beginning. But slowly, I feel in love with the story. So, I guess, this was a story that started off bitter, but got really, really better. If you want to see my blabber about it, I will link the book discussion I did here.

  • GOLDEN SUN: pick a book that made you smile beyond compare.

17453983I love Stephanie Perkins’ books. Not only Anna and the French Kiss, but also Lola and the Boy Next Door and Isla and the Happily Ever After. They never fail to put a smile on my face. The sweet romance of Anna and St. Clair is something I can read about any day. So, this book made me smile beyond compare.

  • TROPICAL FLOWERS: pick a book set in a foreign country.

51jkAgidvAL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_This book is set in Afghanistan. I love all books by Khaled Hosseini. This is just one of them. If you haven’t read any of his works yet, please do because he is amazing! This book left me emotionally exhausted after I finished reading it. It made me feel so many things at once, that I felt overwhelmed. And I loved it. I highly, highly recommend this book.

  • TREE SHADE: pick a book in which a mysterious or shady character was first introduced.

71GXQFa+RRLFor this I choose Warner of Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. I have only read the first book so no spoilers guys! But I thought that Warner was a really shady character and I felt like he was trouble. I want to find out more about him. So, I need to continue with this series soon!

  • BEACH SAND: pick a book that was grainy, and the plot barely developed.

17788401I really didn’t like this book. I thought that the characters were not likable and the plot barely reached the place it was aiming for. So, I choose Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover for this. I know a lot of people liked this book, but I guess it just wasn’t for me. If you want to know more about what I thought of this book, you can click here.

  • GREEN GRASS:ย pick a character(s) that were full of life, making you smile.

16068905I totally chose Levi from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell for this one. I mean, there wasn’t even any question. He was the first character that popped up in my mind when I saw this question. He is so adorable and sweet and full of life, that he makes me smile every time he says something. If you have been following my blog for a while, you know that I am becoming more and more obsessed with him. But what can I say? Sorry, but not sorry. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • WATERMELON: pick a book that had some juicy secrets.

isbn9780753827666If this book doesn’t hold some juicy secret then no book does. Right? Right? The twists in this book are so amazing that they took my breath away. It’s an understatement to say that I loved this book. I worshiped it. I love reading about messed-up characters and this book contains the most messed-up people I have ever read about. So, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn everyone. I don’t think you need my recommendation to read this book.

  • SUN HAT: pick a book that had a vast, big universe/setting.

marissameyerThe setting of these books consist of the whole earth and the moon and parts of the universe. So, the Lunar Chronicles by Merissa Meyer is the series that I think, have a very big setting. I can’t express my love for this series enough. I love all the books in this series and I am eagerly waiting for Winter to release so that I can read it as soon as it comes out.

  • BBQ: pick a book in which a character was portrayed as a hunk.

mead_va_seriesFor this I choose Dimitri Belikov from the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. From the very first book, he has been portrayed as this really handsome, athletic, strong person and whatnot. He is the hunk I chose. I really love this series and I highly recommend it. Even though I will always be Team Adrian. ๐Ÿ˜›

So, this is it! Summer Reader book tag. I really hope that you liked it. I don’t know who has already does this tag and who hasn’t so I won’t tag anyone in particular. But, if you haven’t done it yet, I tag you! Do it! It’s really fun! Please comment which books you would have chosen for these questions! Until next time, then.

Summertime Madness Book Tag

Hello! As you can see, I am doing a book tag again just for the fun of it. I saw this tag on The Girl Who Read Too Much‘s blog and I am going to link that post here. As usual, I wasn’t tagged by anyone to do this. I am doing these just because I want to! So, here goes!

1. Show a book with a summery cover!

For this, I choose Just One Day by Gayle Forman. This book has such a nice, cozy, summery feel to it and the story, of course, is amazing! The first half of the book also takes place during summer. I just love each and every book Gayle Forman puts out. The way she brings out the emotions in each and every book is just beautiful. I loved it when I read it and I am also planning to re-read it soon.

2. Pick one fictional place that would be the perfect destination for a summer vacation!

This is just the most obvious choice. If I had to choose a fictional place to go for a summer vacation, I would choose Hogwarts. Frankly, I would choose to go to Hogwarts anytime. I couldn’t choose anything else.

3. You’re about to go on a flight to your summer vacation. But you want to read a book that lasts for the whole flight, what novella do you choose.

I don’t usually read novellas. So, if I had to pick a book to read while traveling, I would choose a short novel. For this, I chose Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. This is a pretty short novel and I have been meaning to read this for a while. This has been in my TBR for a while now, and I am hoping to get to it soon.

4. You have a case of summertime sadness what happy book do you pick up to shine a smile on your face?

This is one of the best contemporaries that I have ever read. The cute romance never fails to put a smile on my face. It’s lighthearted and beautiful and I am sure it would cheer me up. The setting of the story in Paris also helps. ๐Ÿ˜›

5. Youโ€™re sitting at the beach all aloneโ€ฆwhich fictional character would be your beach babe?

I read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell recently(Book Discussion) and I have been obsessing about it since then. So, Levi would have to be my beach babe. That guy, that guy, would sure be an amazing company. I am sure we will never run out of things to talk about and we would spend an awesome time together. ๐Ÿ˜€

6. To match your ice cream you want an icy cool sidekick! Which fictional sidekick do you pick?

I choose Captain Thorne from the Lunar Chronicles series by Merissa Meyer for this one. It’s hard to find a sidekick so cool and sassy as Captain Thorne. I can only imagine the fun we would have together *sigh*.

7. Share the summertime happiness! Who do you tag?

I tag anyone and everyone who wants to do this tag. If you like it, just go do it!

So, here it is. The summertime madness book tag! I hope you like it! If you do, please comment something below. If you want to do this tag, just give me a link to the post. I want to read them too. So, until next time!

The Reading Habits Tag

I did a tag post just a week ago. But I enjoyed doing it so much that I wanted to do another tag soon. So, here I am! Doing The Reading Habits Tag. I saw this tag on The Ultimate Fangirl’s blog which I will link here. Though I wasn’t tagged by anyone, I decided to do it. I hope you like it! Here goes.

  • Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Yes! All my reading is done on my bed. I like being comfortable while reading, which usually means I lie down and read. Even though its bad for my eyes ( which my mom constantly reminds me ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). Occasionally, I do a lot of reading sitting on my sofa too.

  • Bookmark or random piece of paper?

Bookmark. There’s no reason for this decision except for the fact that I love all types of cute bookmarks! And I have a lot of them. Also, they feel very convenient.

  • Can you stop reading or do you stop after a chapter / a certain amount of pages?

Whenever I sit down to read, I keep at least an hour or two for it. So that I don’t have to stop after reading only a chapter or a number of pages. But if I have to stop, then I stop. It doesn’t matter to me if I am in the middle of a chapter or in the middle of a sentence. I just mark that place and do whatever urgent thing that has to be done immediately so that I can return to my book.

  • Do you eat or drink while reading?

Usually not. It’s not like I have to eat or drink something while reading. But if I happen to read during meal times then I just go through with it. Because you don’t take a break from reading when something interesting is happening in the book, do you? ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

Nope. I just like to really concentrate on the story. Music or TV distract me from the book and I just can’t multitask. I know that lots of people do but I am not one of them.

  • One book at a time or several at once?

One book. I can only handle one story at a time. Though there have been times when I have stopped reading one book and started another. When something like that happens, I just finish that book and then come back to the previous one.

  • Reading at home or everywhere?

Reading everywhere. I can read anywhere, anytime. I just need a book or my kindle with me. I just zone out while reading the story. Surroundings don’t matter to me. Like I said, I just have to get comfy.

  • Reading out loud or silently in your head?

Silently. Or else I would probably lose my voice after six to seven hours of reading. Yes, I am that kind of reader. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

I do read ahead sometimes. Especially when something exciting or terrifying is happening. But usually its in the same page. I never skip pages.

  • Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

I like keeping my books new! So no breaking spine of my books. And if you hurt my books, I will hunt you down and kill you. Just kidding! Or not. You never know. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Do you write in your books?

NO! I can’t even imagine such a scenario. I am pretty crazy when it comes to keeping my books completely unharmed and untainted!

There you go! My Reading Habits Tag! The sole purpose to do these tags is to let you guys know me. And I hope I can succeed in achieving that. Also, they are a lot of fun (as I mentioned before)! The next book discussion will be on the book Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella. So, I hope you will come back then. And please post in the comments if you liked this tag and also if you have similar reading habits as mine.
